Breeding Technicians are responsible for spotting cows that are on heat and ensuring that they are artificially inseminated so that they get in calf and go on to produce milk.Young Stock Managers care for our baby calves and rear them until they are two years old, when they join the dairy herd.Feed Managers look after the day to day nutritional needs of our cows and make sure that bought in feeds are ordered and delivered correctly.Herd Health Technicians keep track of herd health through individual animal records.Herd Managers take care of all the day-to-day operations at the dairy, including caring for new born calves and the freshly calved cows.A significant number of the team have worked here for their entire career. We directly employ around 80 people in our farm team who live and work locally, and we also use a huge range of contractors and advisers. Running a mixed dairy enterprise requires a wide range of skills. It is this team, past, present and future, that makes our farm a success. We are lucky enough to have a great team and we work together like a large family to provide the best care for our cows and the land. There is a broad range of roles within agriculture, as shown below, so there is something for everyone, no matter where your interests lie.
